How soon can I expect the maid to arrive?

If you are taking a transfer helper, you can expect her to arrive very soon. As long as her existing employer releases her, you can have her join your household the next day after the IPA (In-Principle Approval) is approved.

For Myanmar helpers, they can come in within 1 week as all of them have ready passport.

For Indonesian helpers who are still in their home country, they will take about 2 to 6 weeks depending on passport availability.

For Filipino helpers, they will takas about 3 weeks.

What is a transfer helper?

A transfer helper refers to a domestic helper who is currently in Singapore and is looking for a new employer. They may either still be working with their existing employer or staying at the agent’s accommodation while waiting for a new job.

What is a fresh helper?

A fresh helper is a domestic helper who has not previously worked abroad as a housemaid. Most fresh helpers have been working as housemaids in their own country before seeking employment abroad.

What is Caregiver Grant Singapore?

Home Caregiving Grant (HCG)
* This is a monthly cash payout to families who are caring for a loved one in the community who has a permanent moderate disability, and requires assistance with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
– Monthly cash support ($250–$400) for families caring at home for a loved one who needs help with at least 3 daily living activities (e.g. eating, bathing). From Apr 2026, it’ll increase to up to $600/month.
